Umbria

Umbria is the 'green heart of Italy'. From every point of entry visitors travel through verdant valleys, with wonderful views and the locals are very proud of the rich artistic, cultural, historical and gastronomic heritage. Holiday-makers today also benefit from the rich selection of activities available, from browsing in the twice-weekly market in Città di Castello, from golf to relaxing in the spa baths at Fontecchio, which date back to Roman times.

The E45 motorway, not far away, provides easy access to other parts of Umbria, also to the north and the resorts of Rimini and Riccione.

   Arezzo (where 'Life is Beautiful' was filmed) is less than an hour along another luscious valley.                                     Arezzo is also a main point on the main Rome-Florence (and Milan) railway line, with fast links to these major cities.There is also a local railway which links San Guistino to the south of Umbria - calling at the local stations including Città di Castello, San Secondo, Umbertide and Perugia .
